Prince’s Doctor Michael Schulenberg Named In Search Warrant For Singer’s Medical Records, Leaves Practice
Prince‘s family doctor, Dr. Michael Schulenberg, has reportedly left the North Memorial Physicians clinic in Minnetonka, Minn., after being named in a search warrant for the late singer’s medical records.

It has recently come to light that Schulenberg was at Prince’s Paisley Park estate when he died, and that he had seen the singer on April 7 and April 20, the day prior to his death. It has also been learned that Schulenberg had written prescriptions that were to be filled at the Walgreens that Prince had been frequenting in the week leading up to his death, reported TMZ.
Authorities obtained a search warrant to collect the medical records in Schulenberg’s possession in order to uncover what prescriptions he had written for Prince. “That shouldn’t be a surprise to anybody that these records were examined,” Carver County Chief Deputy Jason Kamerud said in regard to questions about the search warrant.
Following the execution of the search warrant, Schulenberg ceased working at North Memorial, Lesa Bader, a spokesperson for the healthcare system, told the Los Angeles Times. Bader declined to offer further details about Schulenberg’s departure, including when and why he left the job.
It was revealed earlier this month that the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration had joined the investigation into Prince’s death in light of evidence that Prince had opioids on him at the time of his death. It was also revealed that Prince’s inner circle sought the help of Dr. Howard Kornfeld in California, who specializes in treating people with opioid addiction.
It is unknown if Schulenberg was among those who reached out to Kornfeld for assistance in treating Prince.
