Prince Harry said he is considering becoming a U.S. citizen now that is living permanently in California.
“I have my own family. As we all do,” he told Good Morning America. “So my family, and my life in California, is as it is. I’ve got other trips planned that would take me through or back to the U.K., so I’ll stop and see my family as much as I can.”
When asked if he would ever consider becoming an American citizen, Prince Harry revealed that, “I have considered it, yeah.”
Prince Harry also revealed thoughts about his father, King Charles’ medical diagnosis.
King Charles, who had recently undergone treatment for an enlarged prostate, has been diagnosed with cancer. It is not prostate cancer but was discovered during treatment.
Prince Harry, who has been silent up until this interview revealed that, “I went to go and see him as soon as I could” once he heard about the diagnosis and spoke to his father.
Prince Harry resides in California with his wife, Megan Markle, and children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Currently, Prince Harry and his family are in Canada for the Invictus Games 2025’s Winter Training Camp.
The Invictus Games is a paraplegic sports event for serving and veteran servicemen and women, founded by Prince Harry. The first games were held in 2014 and have continued to be hosted in many cities worldwide. In 2025, the games will be hosted in Vancouver and Whistler, and this is the first time winter sports will be included.
While discussing the Invictus Games, Harry shared his thoughts about family and how his father’s health scare has brought the family closer together.
“I think any illness, any sickness brings families together,” he noted.
In 2020, Prince Harry and Markle decided to step away from their royal duties amidn racism allegations in the family. He wrote a bombshell book, Spare, which further alienated him from his family.
Last month, it was revealed in a new book that King Charles refers to Harry as “that fool” in private conversations.
