Another royal baby is on the way.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expecting their second child together. The baby will be the eight in line for the British throne, right behind their older brother Archie.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced the pregnancy news with a black-and-white photo taken remotely through an iPad by their friend. Harry shared a look of love to Meghan as she cradles her baby bump while she rests in his lap.
The couple announced the happy news on Valentine’s Day, the very same day 37 years ago when Princess Diana announced her pregnancy with Prince Harry. The news also came after Meghan revealed that she suffered a miscarriage last July. “Losing a child means carrying an almost unbearable grief, experienced by many but talked about by few,” she wrote in a November New York Times essay.
The Duchess is expected to give birth in the United States, meaning that her child with have dual citizenship for the U.S. and the U.K., a usual concept for any child born to an American and British parent.
“Her Majesty, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales and entire family [are] ‘delighted’ and wish them well,” said a statement from Buckingham Palace. The news of the pregnancy comes day after Princess Eugenie gave birth to another royal baby.
Harry and Meghan stepped down from their royal duties last year. The couple and their son moved to California last March.
Last week, Megan won a lawsuit against a British tabloid that invaded her privacy.
