Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter, Princess Eugenie, and her husband Jack Brooksbank welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on Feb. 9. The child is Queen Elizabeth’s ninth great-grandchild and Prince Andrew, The Duke of York and Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York’s first grandchild,

The baby was born at 8:55 a.m. at The Portland Hospital and weighted eight pounds and one ounce.

According to a statement on the Royal Family’s website, Brooksbank was present at the hospital with his wife and their family members were informed about the birth.

“The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Duke of York, Sarah, Duchess of York, and Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank have been informed and are delighted with the news,” read the statement. “Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”

Princess Eugenie posted a photo on Instagram of her and her husbands hands with their baby. The caption was three blue hearts.

The Royal Family also tweeted about the birth, reiterating the information in their statement.

The couple moved to Frogmore cottage, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s old home, in November. The house is down the road from Princess Eugenie’s parents and close to the Queen and her husband, Prince Phillip.

The princess’s mother said on The One Show in 2018 that she was excited to become a grandmother because she’s still a kid herself.

Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank got married in 2018 at Windsor Castle, five months after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got married. Princess Eugenie is not considered a “senior ranking royal” and pursued a career as a director at the London art gallery Hauser & Wirth. Brooksbank is the brand director in Europe of Casamigos Tequila
