President Obama Appears On Jimmy Kimmel Live
For the special President Obama Edition of “Mean Tweets,” Obama read a series of tweets, picking on everything form his graying hair to his mom jeans. The President appeared to get a kick out of the tweets, laughing especially hard after he read this joke: “How do you make Obama’s eyes light up? Shine a flashlight in his ears.”
During his interview with Kimmel following the bit, Obama commented on the segment, saying, “I have to say, though, those weren’t that mean. I gotta tell you. You should see what the Senate says about me.”
President Obama Addresses Ferguson Shootings
The President wasn’t all jokes, however, and touched on the recent shooting of two police officers in Ferguson and the aftermath of the Michael Brown shooting. “I think what had been happening in Ferguson was oppressive and objectionable and worthy of protest, but there was no excuse for criminal acts. And whoever fired those shots shouldn’t detract from the issue,” Obama said.
Kimmel also took the opportunity to ask President Obama about Kanye West’s recent claim that the President calls his house phone. The President admitted that he’s only met the rapper twice, and said, while he thinks West is a talented musician, “I don’t think I’ve got his home number.”
