PHOTO: Eddie Cibrian 'Proposes' To Leann Rimes

Trick or treat? Eddie Cibrian posted this photo on Twitter Sunday night of himself kneeling on one knee in front of girlfriend Leann Rimes, who looks shocked.

But the photo was just a Halloween prank and the couple is not engaged, a source told People magazine.

The couple met and began dating on the set of the Lifetime movie Northern Lights in 2008. Both were married at the time, but have since divorced their respective spouses. Rimes spoke about her divorce in a June interview, saying to People, "I take responsibility for everything I've done. I hate that people got hurt. But I don't regret the outcome."

The singer has been embroiled in controversy recently surrounding her October cover story for Shape magazine. Editors, after receiving a number of letters criticizing Rimes for her affair and the magazine for celebrating her, sent out letters to disgruntled readers apologizing for the cover. Shape editor-in-chief Valerie Latona later said that her words were taken out of context and that she stood behind her decision to feature Rimes. "I stand by the fact that Leann's story is compelling—and her courage and strength in the face of so much adversity is compelling," she said in a statement. "That is why I put her on the cover of Shape for what is now the third time."

Rimes is currently working on an album of country covers, titled Lady and Gentlemen, while Cibrian has a recurring role on Desperate Housewives. –ISHITA SINGH
