Peter Serafinowicz, best known for his roles in Shaun of the Dead and Spy, has been cast as the lead in the Amazon pilot The Tick.
The new series will be headed by Ben Edlund, who created the character in 1994, as writer and executive producer and Patrick Warburton, who portrayed the Tick in Fox’s 2001 live action comedy, serving as executive producer.
The Tick started its reign as a comic book in the late 80s then as an animated series and finally as a live-action series.
In the new series, the blue-suited Serafinowicz will have just woken up from amnesia to find himself with his sidekick Arthur (Griffin Newman) to fight evil.
The actor is known for his work in cult comedy shows like Look Around You and Spaced, and for his own award-winning show The Peter Serafinowicz Show, which aired from 2007 through 2008.
