Pete Davidson, 29, has checked into rehab but is expected to be released soon.
He is reportedly being treated at a medical facility in Pennsylvania and getting support from his friends and family.
The former Saturday Night Live comedian has previously been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, Crohn’s disease and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Davidson lost his father, who was a firefighter, during the September 11 terrorist attacks.
This isn’t the first time the King of Staten Island actor has sought help. Last summer, he had to seek trauma therapy after Kanye West’s online harassment triggered him. Later that year in November, he also had to step back from filming after suffering a meltdown in his trailer.
In a 2018 interview with Variety, Davidson shared that he’s “been in and out of mental health facilities since I was 9.”
In addition to professional help, Davidson has also had to rely on medical marijuana to ease the symptoms of Crohn’s disease and to help him perform on SNL.
Earlier this month, Davidson reportedly left a scathing voicemail to PETA after its Senior VP of Cruelty Investigations, Daphna Nachminovitch, expressed her and the organization’s disappointment after the comedian bought a puppy from a New York City pet store instead of adopting from a shelter. He and his girlfriend, Chase Sui Wonders, picked up a Cavapoo puppy in May.
Davidson and Wonders were also involved in a Beverly Hills car crash in early March. He was charged with reckless driving and his trial is set for July 27.
