Paris Hilton’s beloved dog, Tinkerbell, died on Tuesday, April 21, and the famous socialite has turned her Instagram into a shrine to the Chihuahua.

RIP Tinkerbell

Hilton owned Tinkerbell for 14 years before her death, and at the height of her fame, Hilton was rarely seen without her. Tinkerbell was featured in many modeling campaigns Hilton took part in, and was almost like a third lead in Hilton’s reality series with former-best friend Nicole Richie, The Simple Life.

Hilton announced the sad news on Tuesday, in the first of many posts to Instagram featuring photos of herself with her dog. “After 14 amazing years together my baby Tinkerbell has passed away of old age. I feel like I’ve lost a member of my family. She was such a special & incredible soul. We went through so much together. I can’t believe she’s gone. I will miss her & think about her for the rest of my life. I love you Tinky, you are a Legend & will never be forgotten,” she wrote.

Hilton reportedly purchased Tinkerbell in 2002, and the two were inseparable ever since. Tinkerbell accompanied Hilton on various travels, photo shoots and even red carpets. In the past few years, Tinkerbell has been living her life out of the public eye.

Fans of Hilton also mourned Tinkerbell on social media, offering words of comfort to the heiress, who later took to Instagram to thank fans for their support. “Thank you all so much for your kind words & condolences. It’s really helping me through this very sad & painful time. It feels good to know that Tinkerbell was loved by all & touched the lives of so many. She is truly missed,” Hilton wrote alongside this collage.
