On Sunday, the Oscars‘ annual In Memoriam tribute, featuring notable talent lost in 2017, again left out many names. Screened at the Dolby Theatre with live music accompaniment by Eddie Vedder, the three-minute segment omitted Batman star Adam West, singer Glen Campbell and Benson star Robert Guillaume, among others.

Reaction to the snubs came swiftly on social media.

According to Vanity Fair, a committee at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences convened in January to decide on a list of who to include. From nearly 800 names, the committee spent hours in debate before selecting 51 people. A source told the magazine that while in the past, the annual tribute primarily featured big name movie stars and directors, the committee has been increasingly dedicated to representing a diversity of talent from around the world.

Other names that were left out included director Tobe Hooper, Oscar-winning actress Dorothy Malone and actor Miguel Ferrer.
