Former White House adviser and Apprentice contestant Omarosa Manigault-Newman is claiming that President Donald Trump repeatedly used the “N-word,” The Guardian reported on Friday.

The British newspaper got an advance copy of Manigault-Newman’s upcoming book Unhinged, in which she revealed that Trump routinely used racial slurs while filming the reality television series The Apprentice, and that he was caught on tape doing so. Trump produced and hosted the show from 2003 to 2015.

“It had finally sunk in that the person I’d thought I’d known so well for so long was actually a racist,” she wrote, according to The Guardian. “Using the N-word was not just the way he talks but, more disturbing, it was how he thought of me and African Americans as a whole.”

Omarosa, 44, left the White House in late 2017 after serving as Trump’s director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison. Earlier this month, it was revealed that she also says in her forthcoming book that she believes Trump is suffering from “mental decline.” In February, she criticized the work environment at the White House on the reality series Big Brother and said she would not vote for Trump again. Omarosa even compared the atmosphere to a plantation, and claimed she was shunned because of her race.

Besides the ‘N-word,’ Omarosa claims she also heard Trump use other racial slurs, some of them referring to presidential counselor Kellyanne Conway‘s husband George Conwaywho is half-Filipino. The Wall Street Journal reported that Manigault-Newman secretly recorded Trump making these types of comments.

Omarosa was known for having a contentious relationship with several administration officials, and was even reportedly forcibly removed from the White House by the Secret Service after going on an expletive-filled tirade just before resigning.

For years, multiple celebrities have claimed Trump used racist or sexist language during shoots of The Apprentice, and this has fueled speculation about tapes of these incidents. Perhaps part of the reason for this is the emergence of other footage of the president saying offensive things, like the infamous Access Hollywood tape that surfaced one month before the 2016 election in which Trump bragged about sexually assaulting women.
