Olivia Rodrigo scared her fans by falling through a hole on a Melbourne, Australia, stage, but quickly recovered and reassured her audience she was alright.
During the Australia stop on her Guts World Tour, Rodrigo was greeting fans and began running to the other side of the stage when she disappeared from view, falling through a hole in the stage ground.
Fans captured footage of the incident, which showed the audience screaming in shock as she vanished. However, Rodrigo was able to catch herself and make light of the moment.
“Oh my God! That was fun,” she said as she emerged from the stage. “I’m okay!”
“Sometimes, there is just a hole on the stage,” she joked. “Okay, where was I? How are you doing tonight, Melbourne?”
Fans were quick to use Rodrigo’s catchy song lyrics to reference her fall. “That was a bad idea, right?” one user wrote on social media, while another said, “Always one step forward and three steps down.”
The “Vampire” singer encountered some other mishaps during her Melbourne performance. Her bracelet seemed to get stuck in her hair while she was dancing, and her hair later got caught in the microphone.
Despite these minor inconveniences, Rodrigo’s Guts tour has been a huge success. She began performances in February and will continue through March 2025, welcoming acts like Breeders, Remi Wolf and Chappell Roan to support her.
In March, the 21-year-old sparked online debates after providing free Plan B at her concerts.
