Olivia Colman & Josh O’Connor Film ‘The Crown’ Scenes At Caernarfon Castle In Wales [PHOTO]
The Crown has been a popular and award-winning series since it began in 2016, and now more stars from the show have been spotted shooting scenes.
This week, it was Olivia Colman and Josh O’Connor who were seen at Caernarfon Castle in northern Wales. Colman, who also currently stars in the period comedy-drama film The Favourite — which is said to be an Oscar contender this year — will play the lead role of Queen Elizabeth II in the Netflix drama series starting in season 3, which will premiere in 2019. Colman replaces Golden Globe Winner Claire Foy, who starred in the main role for the first two seasons. O’Connor, 28, will replace Billy Jenkins as Prince Charles.

Tobias Menzies is set to replace Matt Smith as Prince Philip. This particular photo is reportedly meant to be part of a scene that is a recreation of Prince Charles’ Investiture Ceremony in 1969, after which he formally became known as the Prince of Wales.
According to the Daily Mail, at this ceremony Prince Charles wore “a hand woven silk velvet robe which was created by Ede & Ravenscroft and secured with an 18ct Welsh gold clasp.” Side-by-side images of the real-life event and the series’ depiction reveal how accurate the costumes and entire scene design are.
Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a few more months before watching this scene on Netflix.
