‘Octomom’ Nadya Suleman, First Woman To Give Birth To Octuplets, Welcomes Her First Grandchild
Nadya Suleman, better known as the “Octomom,” is now a grandmother.
Suleman announced the birth of her granddaughter on Instagram. She shared a sweet photo of the baby girl’s foot and captioned the post, “Thank you, my son and my lovely daughter-in-law, for giving us this beautiful gift! We are so blessed that she is a new addition to our family!”
Suleman, now 49, did not disclose which one of her ten sons is now a father in her Instagram post celebrating her granddaughter. However, in a post from August 21 celebrating her son Joshua’s birthday, she disclosed that he will soon be a father.
She wrote, “You are smart, funny, hard-working, loyal, humble, and now a devoted husband and soon-to-be father.”
In 2013, Suleman decided to step away from the spotlight to support her family better. She shared her life through Instagram, updating it with family updates, throwbacks and parental advice. She returned to the spotlight in 2009 after becoming the first person in recorded history to have octuplets—eight healthy babies all in one term.
The mom of 14 is a first-generation American and a devoted Christian. She often talks about her faith in interviews and her social media posts. Last year, celebrating the octuplet’s 14th birthday, she described her kids as “altruistic followers of God” to People.
These days, Suleman is kept extra busy raising her growing family. She stays sane by focusing on her health, like weight lifting, which has now become an activity that bonds the family. She also leads a vegan lifestyle, which fuels her active and busy lifestyle, which is much needed for the new grandmother.
