Former child actor Austin Majors, best known for his role in NYPD Blue, has died at 27 according to the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s office.
The cause of death is currently under investigation.

In a statement, his family called Majors “an artistic, brilliant, and kind human being… Austin took great joy and pride in his acting career.”
Majors scored his breakout role in NYPD Blue in 1999 where he starred as Theo Sipowicz, appearing in 48 episodes from 1999-2004.
He appeared in various shows including Hercules, NCIS, According to Jim and Desperate Housewives. He last appeared in a guest-star role on How I Met Your Mother (CBS) in 2009.
Majors graduated from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts where he explored his passions in directing and music producing. According to his family, he loved camping and fishing.
