Nun Who Sued Katy Perry, Sister Catherine Rose Holzman, Dies After Collapsing In Court
Sister Catherine Rose Holzman, a nun who was involved in a lawsuit against Katy Perry, has died.
KTTV reported Sister Holzman collapsed during a court appearance over the sale of a convent Perry wants to buy. Sister Holzman was fighting the sale of the convent to Perry because the nuns were going to sell the property for $15.5 million to Dana Hollister, who wanted to turn the convent into a hotel. The Archdiocese of Los Angeles blocked the sale in 2015 claiming the nuns did not have the authority to sell. In 2016 a judge ruled the sale to Hollister was invalid.
Before the court appearance, Sister Holzman to KTTV, “To Katy Perry, please stop. It’s not doing anyone any good except hurting a lot of people.”
