Nicole Kidman Sets Record Straight Regarding Katie Holmes' Split With Tom Cruise

When Katie Holmes, 33, and Tom Cruise, 50, split, a lot of people got caught in the crossfire, including Cruise ex, Nicole Kidman, 45, who is now the wife of country crooner and new American Idol judge Keith Urban but was famously married to Cruise between the years of 1990 and 2001 and had two children — Bella, 19, and Connor, 17 — with him.

Now Kidman is opening up about the split that got the world revisiting Cruise's last relationship, revealing that she never had any ties with Holmes. "I never spoke to her," Kidman told Australia's Who magazine. "I wish them all well, but I was not involved in any of that."

As for her own former marriage to Cruise, Kidman emphasizes, as she has before, that she has no regrets. "With Tom, it was a fantastic decade. I wish all of the people that have been involved in my life well, because it's very important to me to be in a place of forgiveness and love. … I did have a fantastic marriage for a long period. When it didn't work out, I had to really dig deep and find my way through depression. But I have no regrets about all of it. It was all a part of growing up."

Kidman, who next appears in Lee Daniels' (Precious) The Paper Boy, also starring Zac Efron, Matthew McConaughey and John Cusack, also has two children with new squeeze Urban, Sunday and Faith.

The Paperboy hits theaters on Friday, October 5.
