Nick Cannon took to Twitter Wednesday to refute reports that he’d gone on record about his allegedly troubled marriage with Mariah Carey and to shower praise on the mother of his two children.

Nick Cannon Rants About Divorce Reports

Cannon, 33, decided to clear the air in the wake of ample media reports that have suggested that he and Carey, 45, are divorcing. While Cannon didn’t directly counter claims that they’re splitting, he did empathically deny ever giving an interview and commenting on the state of his marriage.

"I have personally been absent from social media for the past few months for obvious reasons, but I feel the need to finally speak up," Cannon tweeted. "During this challenging time for me and my family, it saddens me that the media can be such evil bottom feeders. Because my family & I haven't been forthcoming with personal information, people are quick to paint negative pictures and spread rumors."

"For the record I NEVER have, nor will I make a statement regarding my marriage," the America’s Got Talent host went on. "So whatever your favorite gossip outlet is reporting has been created within their own imagination."

Over the last couple of weeks it’s been alleged – among other things – that Cannon questioned Carey’s mental stability. Reports suggested that he wanted to divorce her and provide their two kids – four-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe – a safe haven away from the pop diva’s crazy life and her “people,” who don’t have her best interests at heart. According to Cannon, those reports are false as well.

Cannon continued, “What infuriates me most is to hear people slander @MariahCarey. I will always love her unconditionally for this and so much more. @MariahCarey is an amazing Mother and I trust her wholeheartedly. I love @MariahCarey and that will never change!!!"

After offering apologies to those who were brought into the media limelight in connection to the divorce and calling out the fake sources who no doubt got a payday for their comments, Cannon concluded, “'Trouble in Paradise' is the dumbest phrase I've ever heard! I would never say that s—t. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming … #radiosilence.”

It was reported back in August that Cannon and Carey were headed for divorce after six year of marriage and had been living separately for the last few months. There have been numerous theories for the reason for the split, including infidelity, scheduling conflicts and Carey’s mental state.
