Popular TikTok Star Cooper Noriega Dies At 19

TikTok personality Cooper Noriega was found dead on Thursday at the age of 19 after being seen unconscious in his car. Hours before his death, Noriega posted a video with a caption referencing dying young.

Noriega’s vehicle was parked in a mall parking lot in Burbank, California, and paramedics attempted to resuscitate him unsuccessfully once they arrived. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A cause of death for Noriega has yet to be determined, and a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Medical Examiner-Coroner said “after an autopsy, a cause of death has not been confirmed and the medical examiner is requesting more information.”

Mental health and addiction seemed to be issues that Noriega struggled with, and he was open with his fans about it as well. Just a few days ago on June 5, Noriega created the Discord server “Coop’s Advice,” which he said was a place for fans to discuss their mental health struggles openly.

“I would like to use the influence I’ve been given to create a space built on spreading awareness and normalizing talking about mental illness,” Noriega wrote in an Instagram post. “One of the many things I’ve learned while struggling with addiction was that surrounding yourself with negative people will only bring you down.”
