Kardashian-Jenners Win Defamation Case Against Blac Chyna

A jury found the Kardashian-Jenner family not guilty of defamation against Blac Chyna in her lawsuit against them. The jury in Los Angeles Superior Court ruled that while members of the Kardashian family acted in bad faith regarding some issues, they did not directly interfere with her employment at E! or affect the decision by executives to cancel her show, Rob & Chyna.

The members listed as defendants in the lawsuit, Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner and Khloé Kardashian, were all attending the Met Gala on Monday as the jury was deliberating. Kim Kardashian was initially a defendant as well but a judge tossed the part of the lawsuit involving her in the middle of deliberation.

Lynne Ciani, the attorney for Blac Chyna, said that they intend to appeal the case on questions that were left open by her reading of the jury’s verdict, which included that “the jury found that Chyna had not physically abused Rob Kardashian,” and “the jury found that all four defendants had intentionally interfered with her contract with the E! Network.”

The case mostly focused on allegations of abuse made on both sides. Rob Kardashian and his family cited physical altercations between the two as evidence of Chyna being abusive while she claimed Rob was frequently jealous of her and extremely controlling during their relationship.

While Chyna, whose birth name is Angela White, has lost this legal battle against the Kardashian-Jenners, she will still be going to court for separate allegations she made against Rob himself as a lone defendant. This trial will begin in about a week.
