Beyoncé Reunites With ‘Single Ladies’ Producers On New Track ‘Break My Soul’
Beyoncé is back with her first single off the upcoming album Renaissance, a blood-pumping and energetic disco track produced by the team behind “Single Ladies.” Producers The-Dream and Tricky Stewart reunited with Bey on this single, and Jay-Z is credited as one of the song’s writers.
It was first released on the music streaming service Tidal to lucky subscribers, but all fans got to hear it by midnight on June 21 when a lyric video hit Beyoncé’s YouTube channel.
Beyoncé’s simple-but-compelling lyrics about resilience, searching for love, personal growth and evolution are a great match for the repetitive but never tiresome disco-tinged beat. She even breaks down a couple of solid rap bars woven in with her excellent traditional vocals.
This song will absolutely be perfectly at home this summer on a party playlist or at any fun dance club. With this breathtaking lead single now out in the world, fans are only more excited for more information about the new album.
All we know is the 16-track comeback album will be released on July 29, 2022. In a Beyoncé cover story for British Vogue, the publication’s editor-in-chief Edward Enniful listened to parts of Renaissance and said it was “Music that makes you rise, that turns your mind to cultures and subcultures, to our people past and present, music that will unite so many on the dance floor, music that touches your soul.”
