Netflix To Release ‘Breaking Bad’ Movie Centering On Jesse Pinkman ‘El Camino’ In October [TRAILER]

Netflix revealed the news over the weekend that is sure to make Breaking Bad fans happy.

The streaming service released on Saturday the first trailer for the film El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, a sequel that will be available starting on October 11.

The movie will reportedly begin almost immediately after the events of the award-winning AMC series finale, which aired in 2013, and will detail what became of Aaron Pauls character Jesse Pinkman.

Breaking Bad, which lasted five seasons, centered on high school chemistry teacher Walter White — played by Bryan Cranston — and his journey toward becoming a notorious methamphetamine kingpin in New Mexico. Pinkman was White’s former student who teamed up with him to cook and distribute the drug.

In the series, finale, White famously died as law enforcement showed up to arrest him at his lab. White’s death came after he helped Pinkman escape a gang that had coerced him to manufacture meth. Pinkman’s last scene featured him furiously driving an El Camino car away from the house he had been trapped in.

Netflix’s summary of the film synopsis reads: “In the wake of his dramatic escape from captivity, Jesse must come to terms with his past in order to forge some kind of future.”

Paul, who will turn 40 on Tuesday, is set to return as Jesse Pinkman for the film. The actor won three Emmys for his portrayal of the character and is also next set to star in Season 3 of HBO’s hit show Westworld next year.

Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan wrote and directed El Camino.

In a tweet on Saturday, Paul praised Gilligan for his work on the upcoming film.

“Vince absolutely crushed this thing on the page and on film,” Paul wrote. “Thrilled for the world to finally see this piece of cinema history.”

The actor also added the hashtag “#B—,” one of his character’s most repeated insults.

The trailer for El Camino shows police searching for Pinkman as local news outlets detail how the character was held prisoner.

Also featured in the trailer is the character of Skinny Pete, one of Pinkman’s drug-loving friends who was played by Charles Baker. In the trailer, Pete claims he has “no idea” of Pinkman’s whereabouts.

It remains unknown whether or not Cranston will make a cameo as Walter White in a flashback scene for El Camino.

Last month, Paul fooled fans into thinking there may be a Breaking Bad reunion by posting an Instagram photo of him and Cranston announcing their new line of Mezcal.
