NBA All Star Game: West Beats The East, Chris Paul MVP

The NBA All-Star Game ended with the West beating the East 143-138 in a hotly contested game in Houston Sunday night.

In the final quarter of the game, it was Kobe Bryant who cemented the West’s victory after he took on the responsibility of guarding the younger LeBron James. He blocked James not once, but twice in the games final minutes. “I didn’t want him to score on me, dammit,” Bryant said, via Spears. LeBron did, however, manage to pick up another record for himself. During the game, he managed to take over Ray Allen’s three-point record in the All-Star Game when he sunk his 23rd in the contest.

All-Star Game MVP Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers, became the first player from the franchise to take home the honor with his 20 points and 15 assists. “It’s something that I definitely, coming into the game, I wasn’t trying to achieve or thinking that it might even be possible,” Paul humbly told SB Nation. He bested both Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony who outscored him in the game with 30 points and 26 points, respectively.

Basketball fans can now turn their focus to the NBA’s trade deadline, which is just three days away on Thursday, Feb. 21.
