Mysterious Death Of Fashion Designer Kate Gallagher, 35, Ruled A Homicide By Drugging
New York investigators announced that fashion designer Kate Gallagher, 35, was killed in her Manhattan apartment by a drug cocktail containing fentanyl, p-fluorofentayl and ethanol.
Gallagher’s death in July 2022 has been a mystery since police found her body with no apparent signs of injury.
On Friday, a medical examiner labeled the death as a homicide by acute intoxication during a “drug-facilitated theft.”

Authorities have not identified any suspects or publicly stated what was stolen from the apartment.
These types of homicides have happened in Manhattan before. According to police sources, the drug-related robberies have led to the deaths of five other people. Earlier this month, two men – Julio Ramirez, 25, and John Umberger, 33 – had money from their checking and savings accounts stolen the night of their deaths.
In December, police charged Kenwood Allen, 33, in the deaths of two men who were targeted in nightclubs, drugged and robbed.
“They target their victims leaving bars, offering drugs in some cases, then either through force or when the victim passes out, they remove jewelry, money, high-end watches and phones from their victims,” the NYPD’s chief of detectives, James Essig, said.
Gallagher was known for designing some of Lady Gaga‘s most famous outfits. She started her own fashion line in 2010 and made 26 different collections that were featured in New York and Paris Fashion Weeks.
