Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation had its world premiere in Vienna, Austria, Thursday night with the stars and director all in attendance.

Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation Premiere

Tom Cruise posed beside director Christopher McQuarrie and his costars Simon Pegg and Rebecca Ferguson at the Vienna State Opera house, where the Rogue Nation premiere was held. The trio of actors also hung out at the afterparty and were pictured in a group hug.

Leading up to Rogue Nation‘s release, much has been said of Cruise, 53, and his insistence on doing his own stunts. And, for his latest Mission Impossible film, he was as adamant as ever that there be some stunning action sequences. One such action sequence takes place at the top of the film and features Cruise hanging onto an airbus as it takes to the skies.

“We wanted to do something that didn’t replicate anything that’s already been done,” McQuarrie told Entertainment Weekly.  “I sort of half-joked to Tom, ‘Well, what if that took off with you on the side [of an airbus]?’ and without hesitation he said, ‘Yeah, I could do that’ ”

Stunt coordinator Wade Eastwood said of Cruise, “His stuntman has the least work of any stuntman in the world. It’s a very unsatisfying job,” and added, “If you want to get a swearword out of Tom, use the words green screen.”

Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, which also stars Jeremy Renner, Alec Baldwin and Ving Rhames, hits theaters July 31.
