Fragments from the Boeing 777 that disappeared en route to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur Saturday morning have potentially been discovered in Vietnamese waters.

Fragments From Missing Plane Found

International intelligence agencies that are working on the case of the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH 370 that disappeared over the weekend believe a door to the plane and part of its tail have been found, reported the Wall Street Journal. Up until now, no other potential plane fragments have turned up to give authorities a hint at what could have happened during the ill-fated flight.

"From this object, hopefully [we] will find the missing plane," Lt. Gen. Vo Van Tuan told the Thanh Nien newspaper.

The Malaysian Airlines flight took off on Saturday from Kuala Lumpur, carrying 239 passengers. The plane lost contact with controllers somewhere between Malaysia and Vietnam, never arriving at its destination in Beijing.

"We are trying to make sense of this," Malaysia's air force chief Rodzali Daud said. "The military radar indicated that the aircraft may have made a turn back, and in some parts this way corroborated by civilian radar."

Since there was no distress signal or call, nor was there any inclement weather, authorities are stumped as to what could have caused a crash at cruising altitude. Their answer could lie in the identities of two passengers aboard the plane who had used stolen passports to get on the flight.

Until the plane is located, investigators will be unable to offer conclusive answers about what happened to the aircraft and why.
