Mischa Barton‘s lawyer Lisa Bloom has declared victory in the actress’ “revenge porn” lawsuit.

MISHCA BARTON WINS REVENGE PORN LAWSUIT

Reports of a sex tape involving Barton emerged in March, and the actress took legal action against her ex-boyfriend Jon Zacharias, one of the alleged peddlers of the tape. On Monday, Barton and Bloom reached a settlement with Zacharias, who agreed not to distribute any of the images and to turn them over to Barton.

“COURT VICTORY today with Mischa Barton,” Bloom quickly tweeted that day. “Distribution of the explicit images banned, ex stays 100 years away forever.”

“People said Mischa and I could never stop an ex trying to sell explicit pix of her. I disagreed. Today, we won,” she wrote in another tweet.

“Today we have won an important agreement, which permanently blocks the dissemination of these images,” Bloom said in a statement to People. “All explicit photos and videos of Mischa must be handed over to me immediately. Her ex must stay 100 yards away from her today, tomorrow, and forever. And the court will retain jurisdiction over the case in case we need further enforcement. I am proud to declare victory for Mischa,” the statement continues. “She did this not just for herself, but for all women and girls. Mischa wants everyone to know that we have the right to control our own bodies and decide whether or not to have explicit photos out there for the world to see. If a woman wants to do that, fine. If she doesn’t, fine. The choice is hers and hers alone.”

In the court papers, Barton claims that her ex recorded the former couple during sex and took photos while the actress was nude without her knowledge or permission. The suit also alleges that Zacharias was attempting to sell the footage for $500,000.

Barton spoke out about the incident on multiple occasions, telling Bloom that her “worst fear was realized when I learned that someone I thought I loved and trusted was filming my most intimate and private moments, without my consent with hidden cameras.” She later engaged Dr. Phil in the matter and said her ex was trying for “complete emotional blackmail.” “I didn’t believe it at first, I couldn’t believe it because I had loved this person and I didn’t think it was possible, and I later learned that it was entirely possible,” Barton shared. “It was obviously complete emotional blackmail, it as one of those things where I needed to distance myself from all of these people immediately because there’s not much you can do; it’s really out of your hands, and it was a crime.”
