Michelle Obama teamed up with Saturday Night Live castmember Jay Pharoah to rap in the “Go To College” music video produced by College Humor.

Michelle Obama Raps

Pharoah, who notably plays President Barack Obama on SNL, kicked off the track and called on the First Lady to join him. “When your future’s nothing to toy with/ Telescope and stay focused/ Make a mark and get noticed?,” Pharoah rapped, “Get the degree, thermostat/ Help me out, FLOTUS!”

Duetting with Phaorah on the hook, Obama rapped, “If you wanna fly jets, you should go to college/ Reach high and cash checks, fill your head with knowledge/ If you wanna watch paint, don’t go to college/ But for everything else, you should go to college.”

The third verse belonged to the FLOTUS, who rhymed, “South Side, Chicago, we all know/ We had to do overtime every night to make it tomorrow/ And everyone could really make their dream true/ Hey, kid listenin’ in Michigan, that could be you.”

The “Go to College” song and accompanying video was created for Obama’s Better Make Room Campaign, which recognizes high achievers in the classroom.

“When I launched my Better Make Room campaign in October, I said that this campaign is about celebrating students the same way we celebrate athletes and celebrities,” Obama said in a statement. “I want to honor and empower young people who are working hard in school and pursuing their dreams — and I want to do it in a fun and fresh way — and that’s why I was so excited to film this ‘music video’ with Jay Pharoah, CollegeHumor, and the Gregory Brothers.”

Comedian and actor Pharoah added, “Teaming up with CollegeHumor and First Lady Michelle Obama to spread the important message behind ‘Better Make Room’ is a once in a lifetime opportunity. It’s like working at SNL or becoming the president — which WILL happen in my lifetime (Kanye voice)!!!”
