Michelle Obama Offers Words Of Encouragement To Greta Thunberg After Trump Mocks Her
Sixteen-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg was recently named as Time magazine’s Person of the Year. She has inspired protestors all over the world to push for action in combating the climate crisis.
President Donald Trump, 73, decided to mock Thunberg this weekend, saying that she needed to “chill” and “see a good old-fashioned movie.”
Michelle Obama responded to Trump’s mockery with words of encouragement for Thunberg. Although she never mentions Trump by name, Michelle tweeted to not “let anyone dim [her] light.” Michelle also told Thunberg to ignore her doubters and to know that millions of people are cheering for her.
Although Michelle’s message was intended towards Thunberg, she included all girls from around the world in the meaning of her tweet. She said, “Like the girls I’ve met in Vietnam and all over the world, you have so much to offer us all.”
.@GretaThunberg, don’t let anyone dim your light. Like the girls I’ve met in Vietnam and all over the world, you have so much to offer us all. Ignore the doubters and know that millions of people are cheering you on.
