Michael Jordan To Marry Yvette Prieto
Michael Jordan applied for a marriage license with finance Yvette Prieto on Thursday at a courthouse in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Jordan, 50, has been dating Prieto, 33, for the last three years. The Charlotte Bobcats owner and Cuban-American model were engaged over Christmas in 2011, his rep told North Carolina TV Station WCNC. The marriage license must be used within 60 days, and Jordan and Prieto plan to use it for a marriage ceremony to be held on April 27.
Jordan divorced his wife of 17 years, Juanita Vonoy, in 2006. With her, the basketball legend has three kids: Jeffery Michael, 24, Marcus James, 22, and Jasmine, 19. He married Vanoy during his heyday with the Chicago Bulls, whom he led to six NBA championships.
Commonly believed to be the greatest player basketball has ever seen, Jordan averaged over 30 points a game – a feat yet to be matched. He also led the league in scoring 10 times. With 32,292 career points, he ranks third among all-time leading scorers – behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone.
Throughout her modeling career, Prieto has worked with a slew of designers, including Balenciago’s new creative director, Alexander Wang. She once dated Enrique Iglesias’ older brother, Julio Iglesias Jr.
