First Lady Melania Trump is facing Twitter backlash for boasting about helping “children everywhere.”
This is amid a continuous humanitarian crisis at the border, where immigrant children are being detained in U.S. facilities without basic supplies.

Trump announced that she was “delighted” to be expanding her “Be Best” campaign by appointing 21 new ambassadors to “better the lives of children everywhere.”
But her tweet seemed tone deaf to many, coming the same day the nation reeled from the news of the shocking conditions at a Texas detention center.
Trump was confronted with thousands of irritated responses on Twitter.
One user asked, “How many toothbrushes, soap and blankets can you buy if you sell a pair of Louboutins? Be Best!”
Another stated, “might want to start with those kids in the concentration camps.”
Even actor Michael McKean jumped in, calling the first lady a “fraud.”
To date, six children have died in federal custody after being separated from their parents or guardians at the border.
