Melania Trump made a public appearance last weekend at a black-tie gala at Mar-a-Lago. After the passing of her mother last month, Melania has taken a step back from the public.

At The Trumpettes, the ball held for her husband Donald Trump, Melania was described to be in “good spirits” as she sported a black pantsuit. Melania stuck close to Donald throughout the night. A video shows Donald kissing his wife at the event. The couple recently celebrated 19 years of marriage.

Melania has been absent from Trump’s side as he faces numerous legal battles. It is unclear if Melanie will support her husband publicly in the 2024 election.

She has yet to speak about Trump’s election fraud case or the events of January 6 and has not appeared at any of her husband’s political events since he announced his candidacy.

During Donald’s presidency, Melania focused most of her time on the couple’s son, Barron Trump.

At the gala, Donald mentioned Melania in his speech to the crowd, saying she was America’s “great first lady.”

Guests at the gala said Donald was “attentive” to his wife and stayed by her side. On Valentine’s Day, Donald made sure to show his appreciation to his wife through a fundraising message.

“Dear Melania, I LOVE YOU!” the message said.

Last month, Melania’s mother, Amalija Knavs, died at the age of 78. Melania spoke at her funeral, one of her first public appearances in months.

The event was held before Trump was ordered to pay $355 million in his business fraud case on Friday.
