When the daughter of President Donald Trump expressed her wish to become the first female president of the United States, she was met with ridicule from the first lady. According to Melania Trump‘s former advisor Stephanie Winston Wolkoff in her new tell-all book, Melania & Me, the first lady scoffed at the idea of Ivanka Trump becoming president.

“Melania would roll her eyes whenever she heard Ivanka ramble on about her grand plan on becoming America’s first female president with Jared [Kushner] by her side,” an inside source told Daily Mail. “Jared would ultimately chime in with, ‘She’s got what it takes, she’s a born leader, the people love her, look at her’ and Melania would mumble ‘no thank you.’”

Donald Trump Jr has expressed similar ambitions of following in his father’s footsteps as his sister. According to the source, Melania would often “shake her head in disgust” over the siblings “running around the White House saying ”look at me, look at me” and acting like they were the ones in charge.”

In the new book, Melania Trump allegedly compares the White House to a chaotic circus with co-ringleaders Ivanka and Don Jr. Melania & Me also reveals that the first lady views Ivanka, Don Jr, and other members of the Trump family as “snakes.”

During the Trump presidency, Ivanka Trump has frequently taken the place of Melania to carry out speeches and events when the latter was unavailable. In the words of Wolkoff in her new book, “[Melania] didn’t appear in public or release statements to the press. Her social media was quiet. Ivanka rushed in to fill the void as the ‘acting’ first lady, issuing constant social media posts and press releases galore about her involvement with women’s issues, lobbying Daddy about climate change (alas, unsuccessfully), and attending every meeting she could slink her way into.”

The former advisor also mentioned that the president is trying to keep the Trump family in power and that he is prepping his daughter to take over. Ivanka Trump’s mother, Ivana Trump, also predicted her daughter’s presidency in an interview on ITV’s Loose Women.

“I think she could be one day the first girl, or woman, president,” she said. “She’s smart as hell. She’s beautiful. She’s au courant. And how much more can you have?”
