Last week, President Donald Trump tweeted that he would not attend President-elect Joe Biden‘s Inauguration ceremony on Jan. 20. First Lady Melania Trump did not know if she would be attending or not until that tweet was sent, a White House staffer told CNN.

“It’s not the first time she has learned what he was doing because he tweeted it before he told her,” said the staffer. “She’s part of this. She can be silent, but she’s part of this,” the source said.

Since her husband lost the election, the first lady has not done anything significant other than make a statement regarding the violence at the Capitol building last week, five days after the incident occurred.

Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, Trump’s ex best friend and author of the book Melania and Me: The Rise and Fall of My Friendship with the First Lady, said Trump is just as attention seeking as her husband.

“Every single MAGA mob rioter who stormed the U.S. Capitol did so “at the direction of, and in coordination with” President Trump, and it was an assault on human life and our great democracy. Unfortunately, our president and first lady have little, if any, regard for either,” said Winston Wolkoff in a an article for The Daily Beast.

Trump has not done anything to prepare or welcome the incoming First Lady, Dr. Jill Biden. Instead, she has been packing up their belongings and sending them to Mar-a-Lago and storage.

“(Melania Trump) is not sad to be leaving,” said one White House official to CNN.
