Meghan Markle Deletes All Social Media Accounts Before Royal Wedding

Meghan Markle has deleted her Instagram and Twitter accounts in anticipation for her royal wedding to Prince Harry on May 19.

MEGHAN MARKLE DELETES SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS

The 36-year-old Suits star kept up to date with her accounts up until she began dating the prince, at which time she slowed down and eventually stopped altogether. Last April, the actress announced she was ending her lifestyle blog, The Tig, after she had Harry got involved.

“After close to three beautiful years on this adventure with you, it’s time to say goodbye to The Tig,” she shared on the site at the time. “What began as a passion project (my little engine that could) evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun and frivolity. You’ve made my days brighter and filled this experience with so much joy. Keep finding those Tig moments of discovery, keep laughing and taking risks, and keep being ‘the change you wish to see in the world.'”

For a time, fans of the royal family kept up to date with Markle’s accounts to find clues about her relationship with the prince, but now admirers will have to stick to the couple’s public appearances and keep an eye on Kensington Palace’s official social media accounts. No other royals have a presence online.

Their Instagram and Twitter accounts often post about the activities of members of the royal family. Most recently, they recounted Harry and Markle’s visit to Reprezent Radio in South London, which helps London youth stay away from street crime. The accounts have also posted photos of the couple’s engagement, as well as of Princess Charlotte‘s first day of nursery school, as taken by Kate Middleton, among other milestones.
