On Monday, Princess Charlotte attended her first day of nursery school, and mom Kate Middleton snapped some photos for the occasion.

Kensington Palace shared two photos of Charlotte’s first day with followers on Instagram and Twitter. “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share two photographs of Princess Charlotte at Kensington Palace this morning,” they wrote. “The images were taken by The Duchess shortly before Princess Charlotte left for her first day of nursery at the Willcocks Nursery School.”

Fans of the royal family responded to the photos on Twitter with kind words. “The Duchess always captures her children with a keen eye — quite the expert photographer!! So cute!” said one user. “Super cute! Like all families w/ their child on the first day of school,” said another. “So sweet to see the way she looks at her mum with such excitement and love,” added one more.

Middleton, who is expecting her third child in April, also celebrated her birthday on Tuesday. The Duchess of Cambridge turns 36 today. “Thank you so much for all your kind wishes on The Duchess of Cambridge’s birthday!” wrote the Kensington Palace official Twitter account.
