Martha Stewart Jokes She Wishes Her Friends Would ‘Just Die’ So She Can Date Their Husbands
A hilarious podcast interview clip featuring Martha Stewart is making the rounds on the internet. In it, Stewart tells the host Chelsea Handler that she has never been a “homewrecker,” but jokes that she has her eye on a few of her friends’ handsome husbands and wishes they would “just die,” and give her a shot.
“I have had the opportunity to be a homewrecker, and I have not taken anybody up on it,” Stewart said, before going on to vent that the only good-looking men she meets are married to her friends now.
While Stewart doesn’t have it in her to get a man to cheat, she did joke that she sometimes thinks, “Couldn’t that person just die?” To clear the way for her love life. “Not painfully, just die. But it hasn’t worked out,” Stewart added dryly.
Stewart has some great stories from her dating life following her split from ex-husband Andrew Stewart. She told Howard Stern in 2006 she had a short relationship with Anthony Hopkins, but ended it after watching The Silence Of The Lambs. “I would have probably had a very nice relationship with Anthony Hopkins, but I couldn’t get past the Lector thing,” she admitted.
She also once went on a date with the late television host Larry King that she did not realize was a date. Stewart recalled once, “I thought we were just talking about journalism etc. etc., and then he sort of got a little amorous.”
