Marlon Wayans claims he was “mistreated” by United Airlines when he was removed from a flight. The airline removed him for disturbing the peace after he got upset when he was asked to check his bags.

He originally had three bags and was asked to “consolidate,” so he put one bag inside another. Then the flight attendant informed him he would have to “check that bag,” which is where the issue started to arise. Wayans did not want to check his bag as he claimed other people were able to bring two bags on board. It ended in Wayans being asked to leave the flight.

Wayans has gone on Instagram to speak about what happened and posted a series of videos about the incident.

He posted the first video three days ago explaining to his fans that he would probably miss or be late to his show in Kansas City due to a gate agent.

He captioned the post: “Maaaaaan the bulls— I’m experiencing at @united is unprecedented BULL—-. People taking advantage of their “power.” Bro claimed I had too many bags so I complied and consolidated them he was like “oh now you have to check that bag.” Bye. I’m in seat 2 A come holla. Most agents are always love but every now and then you come across BAD PEOPLE. This was one of them. @united this type of employee should never work at your company. I’m writing a letter DEAR MR. @scottkirby …”

His next post was a photo of him holding an American Airlines brochure on an American Airlines flight.

He captioned this one: “Fly where you’re respected, protected and loved. @americanair concierge key!!! No more @united for me.”

This post had some mixed reviews and was not well received by everyone. Many people in the comments complained that he was the one acting disrespectfully. Some fans also added that it is clear in the FAA rules that you are only allowed two bags that must be a certain size.

Wayans was given a citation because of the altercation. He posted another statement, alleging the gate agent “tried to lie and say I assaulted him.”

Wayans is demanding to be compensated saying, “Y’all owe me money for my shows I missed, y’all owe me for my troubles, y’all owe my fans a damn apology.”

Two days ago, Wayans posted another video after United called him to speak about the incident. In the video, he stated, “I don’t know what kind of corporate culture there is. Your customers are always right…. This man was wrong and I was targeted. Period.”

His second to last post about the issue was posted 22 hours ago. It included a video of him boarding a Delta flight and he showed the bags he was bringing onto the flight. Before boarding the flight, he thanked Delta workers and laughed along with them. One woman even said, “You’re so welcome. We strive to go above and beyond.”

In his caption, he included the statement, “Feels good to be treated nice today. Thanks @delta for rinsing the bad taste of @united out of my mouth. Only people makes the difference. @americanair is great as well. So accommodating.”

He ended the post with, “My next comedy special will be F. U. F*@! United. Thank you for writing me more jokes and more episodes and sketches. Creativity combats all mistreatment.”

Wayans also conducted an interview with TMZ where he explains his version of what occurred.
