Madonna thanked her kids for their support while she was hospitalized last month for a bacterial infection.

The singer took to Instagram to express her gratitude to her six children, Lourdes Leon, Rocco Ritchie, David Banda, Mercy James, Stella Ciccone and Estere Ciccone. “Love from family and friends is the best medicine. One month out of the hospital and I can reflect,” she wrote on Sunday.

“As a mother you can really get caught up in the needs of your children and the seemingly endless giving… But when the chips were down my children really showed up for me. I saw a side to them I had never seen before. It made all the difference.”

She continued to speak about the support she received from her friends and family, specifically her manager Guy Oseary for “a Polaroid taken by Andy Warhol of Keith Haring wearing a jacket with Michael Jackson‘s face painted on it” that he gifted her.

She additionally included two pictures with Banda and Leon and ended the statement by writing, “I sobbed when I opened this gift because I realized how lucky I am to be alive. And how fortunate I am to have known these people and so many others who are also gone. And thank you to all my angels who protected me and let me stay to finish doing my work! ♥️”

The star was hospitalized in June after she was found unresponsive. She had to be intubated in the ICU for several days and was released a week later.

It is suspected that the hospitalization was due to her strenuous 12-hour work days in rehearsal for her upcoming Celebration Tour. Since the news came out, the North American portion of the concerts will be postponed to a date that has yet to be announced. Madonna does plan on performing in the European leg of the tour this October as scheduled.
