Madame Tussauds Trolls Disney Over Animatronic Donald Trump

Walt Disney World introduced the newest addition to its “Hall of Presidents” attraction: an animatronic Donald Trump.

DISNEY WORLD ADDS ANIMATRONIC TRUMP; MADAME TUSSAUDS TROLLS

Many were quick to point out how flawed the sculpture was and how little it resembled the actual president. The figure gained so much attention that even the world-famous wax museum Madame Tussauds got involved. “ME AT THE START OF 2017 VS ME NOW,” wrote the official Twitter account of the Madame Tussauds in Orlando, Florida. The accompanying picture was a side-by-side image of a real photo of Trump and the statue.

Other social media users got involved in the mocking as well, with many agreeing that the figure looks more like Jon Voight or even Hillary Clinton. “It’s weird how the Trump robot at the Hall of Presidents is Trump from an HBO movie five years from now where he’s played by Jon Voight,” one person wrote. “The more I see of Disney’s ‘Hall of Presidents’ Trump, the more I’m convinced they made a Hillary one first and had to redo it,” said another.

Another user pointed out that Trump is standing in the center with the other presidential figures staring at him, many with stern looks on their faces. “Disney finally put Trump in the Hall of Presidents and the others are all ‘can you believe this schmuck?'”

The Trump figure will address the public for the first time this week. The attraction was closed for remodeling shortly after Trump was elected, and officially reopened on Tuesday. Every president since 1993 has had a speaking role in the “Hall of Presidents,” and Trump’s words are centered around the Constitution.

“Above all, to be an American is to be an optimist, to believe that we can always do better and that the best days of our great nation are still ahead of us,” the animatronic figure will say. “It’s a privilege to serve as the president of the United States, to stand here among so many great leaders of our past, and to work on behalf of the American people.”
