Britney Spears recently spoke out again about some of the traumatic situations she went through during her conservatorship, including “abuse” at the hands of both her mother Lynne Spears and father Jamie Spears.
Now, Lynne has responded to the statement on social media claiming her daughter has rejected attempts to contact her, though that may be understandable if the accusations are true.
Spears uploaded a 20-minute audio clip online discussing her 15-year ordeal, which included allegations that her mother helped carry out Jamie’s “premeditated” plan to have her hospitalized and placed in a conservatorship.
While this hasn’t been legally proven, an FBI report has confirmed other instances of abuse, including her father planting surveillance devices in Spears’ bedroom.
Lynne Spears wrote a message to Britney on Instagram, though she didn’t directly deny any points made in the video. “I have tried my best to support your dreams and wishes! And also, I have tried my best to help you out of hardships! I have never and will never turn my back on you,” she wrote.
Using maybe a bit too many exclamation points overall, Lynne added, “Your rejections to the countless times I have flown out and calls make me feel hopeless!”
She also said that this discussion should be had in private, “eye to eye.”
