Luke Perry died earlier this year at the age 52 due to a massive stroke and now seven months later he is being remembered on The CW’s hit show Riverdale. On the drama’s latest episode on Wednesday, Freddie Andrews (played by Luke Perry) was finally celebrated and laid to rest at a heartwarming funeral.

Freddie Andrews was the owner of a construction business and the father of Archie Andrews (played by KJ Apa). He was killed off in the series in a hit-and-run while trying to help a stranded woman on the side of the road played by Shannen Doherty. Andrews was trying to fix her vehicle when a driver struck him.

His son Archie has long grieved over the accident and tries to find the person who killed his father. Unfortunately, the man that ends up getting charged with the crime is the wrong one. The man who had turned himself in did so to protect his teenage son, the person who had actually been driving the car.

Nonetheless, Perry’s character was there for every high and every low on the show. Archie’s last words for his father included him as being “the greatest man he’s ever known” and that “Fred Andrews will always be a part of Riverdale.”
