LISTEN: Elton John Teases Upcoming Duet With Britney Spears “Hold Me Closer”

Britney Spears is set to release her first music in years after being released from her conservatorship last year. The track is a duet with Elton John called “Hold Me Closer,” a remixed version of his iconic single “Tiny Dancer.” John even teased the track for some lucky partiers in Cannes.

The video, which the singer posted online himself, shows John approaching a DJ booth at the restaurant La Guerité to loud cheers from the crowd. He is handed a microphone and as the track’s music begins he yells, “Okay! Britney Spears, Elton John! Here we go!”

John sings his parts of the track live, and of course, he sounded incredible even with a minimal warm-up. The song has been remixed to add a flare of dance and house music inspiration, which is certainly the trend with pop music nowadays and perfect for the last days of summer.

While Spears’ parts were harder to hear in the live setting along with the cheering and John’s singing, there were parts where Britney’s voice certainly came through and it was refreshing to hear her again.

“Hold Me Closer” will be released on August 26. Check out the preview below:
