Former pageant queen Lindsay Shiver is accused of plotting to murder her ex-NFL player husband, Robert Shiver.

Lindsay allegedly planned to kill her husband with the help of her Bahamian boyfriend, Adrien Bethel, and a hitman, Faron Newbold Jr., while on a trip to the Bahamas. She allegedly gave them explicit orders to kill her husband and the two men, specifically Bethel.

The police found messages on the phone during a search of a suspected burglar’s phone at Grabber’s Bar and Grill in Great Guana Cay, Bahamas, this month. The identity of the owner’s phone remains unclear.

She was arrested and detained in the Bahamas on bail of $100,000. She was forced to stay and leave behind her three young children.

The hitman and Lindsay’s boyfriend were also arrested.

Lindsay was granted permission to return to the U.S. to see her children, whom she has not seen since her arrest. Lindsay confessed it was affecting her “mental and physical safety,” asking to go home in time for Christmas.

Her former husband was opposed to her return, fearing for his safety. He is “thankful to be alive” but afraid.

“After reviewing the indictment, this was a situation close to happening … I’m concerned for the safety of myself,” the former football player admitted.

Despite Robert’s pleas to keep her on the island, she has returned on new terms and conditions. Lindsay must wear an electric monitoring device and adhere to a curfew.

She also stays at her parents’ house in Alabama, where she must keep her ankle monitor on. She is not permitted to travel to her old home in Georgia, where she lived with her family, including Robert.

Lindsay awaits her murder-for-hire trial, which is estimated to start in March.
