LeSean McCoy, Philadelphia Eagles Player, Sued For Assault & Battery
LeSean "Shady" McCoy, a running back for the Philadelphia Eagles, has been sued for assault and battery by a woman whom he had traveled with on a party bus last year, according to TMZ.
The woman, who is using the name “Mary Roe,” filed the lawsuit on May 10 in a Philadelphia court against the NFL player, his bodyguard and Premier Luxury Rentals. The alleged assault took place on Dec. 18, 2012 when Roe was traveling on a party bus with McCoy and others from Philadelphia to New York City, according to the filing. While en route to New York, Roe alleges she was first assaulted and then left at a rest stop on the New Jersey Turnpike.
"McCoy and some of the male guests began to spray the female guests, including the plaintiff, with water," the complaint states, according to Courthouse News. "When plaintiff protested, McCoy directed Big John to 'get her.' Big John and/or McCoy then struck plaintiff in the face, causing her to fall to the ground, physically restrained her while she was lying on the ground, poured a beverage onto her hair, clothes, and body, and forcibly dragged and pushed her. McCoy ordered the driver to stop on the side of the highway, and after the driver did so, both Big John and McCoy then forcibly ejected plaintiff from the bus."
Roe is now seeking $50,000 in damages for assault and battery, intentional infliction of emotion distress, false imprisonment and negligence.
Back in January, McCoy got into a public Twitter spat with the mother of his son, reported Philly.com. He then encouraged his followers to join the fray, tweeting, "Tell @Angelface0330 to get a job n stop begging for child support money she a BUM needs me to LIVE sad!!!" McCoy has since deactivated his social media account.
