Late Night Shows Mock Mike Pence’s Silence During Oval Office Meeting With Trump, Pelosi & Schumer [BEST MEMES]

On Monday night, The Late Show hosts took a dig at President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence’s meeting with Democratic leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, and they focused particularly on Pence’s quiet and emotionless behavior.

The Tuesday meeting that took place in front of reporters and other White House staff was over funding for Trump’s border wall and the possibility of a government shutdown. But notably, for 17 minutes, Trump, Pelosi, and Schumer went back and forth and talked over one another, meanwhile, Pence sat silently and was completely absent from the conversation which caught the attention of social media users and late-night hosts.

In a video posted to Twitter on Tuesday, The Late Show mocked Pence’s behavior by including a voice over that portrayed Pence’s interior thoughts as the meeting took place. “I wonder if I sit real still if people will even notice I’m here,” a voiceover said as footage of the meeting was shown. “I’m a manila envelope taped to a beige wall, no one can see me. I don’t think all gay people are bad, I just think all bad people are gay.”

The Late Show wasn’t the only ones to get in on the action, as Jimmy Kimmel Live edited the argument into a White House themed installment of The Real Housewives, including reactions from the actual reality show stars.

Host Trevor Noah from The Daily Show also joked about Pence’s quietness to his audience. “He just sat there motionless, like a guy whose edibles just kicked in,” Noah joked.

Noah also took to Twitter to joke further. “Me: these edibles ain’t sh—,“ he wrote and included a snapshot of Pence from the meeting with his eyes closed. 

Many other’s also joined in on the fun over Twitter.

“Mike Pence is the worst member of this improv team,” one user wrote.

“Mike Pence powered down to save electricity,” another wrote.
