Luke Bell, the country singer who was big in the local music scene of Nashville, Tennessee and toured with country music legends like Willie Nelson and Dwight Yoakam, passed away in Arizona after disappearing for several days.
Drug paraphernalia was reportedly found by his body, and a toxicology report has indicated that he likely died from an accidental fentanyl overdose according to the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner.

He reportedly disappeared on August 20 while a friend staying with him in Tucson was getting him something to eat. His friend Matt Kinman told outlets like Saving Country Music that Bell had been battling bipolar disorder for the past several years, and went through periods of semi-homelessness and incarceration even while he was experiencing successes in his music career.
Bell was born in Kentucky but grew up in Cody, Wyoming where he first gained an interest in music. He self-produced his debut album in Austin, Texas in 2012, and then a second one back home in Cody after a successful Kickstarter campaign funded it. His third and final album, Luke Bell was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, and in 2021 he also made a cover of the John Lennon track “Jealous Guy.”
