Lance Armstrong officially tied the knot with his longtime partner Anna Hansen in a romantic private ceremony in a romantic location in the French city of Aix-en-Provence. Hansen and Armstrong have been dating since 2008 and have a son and daughter together.

“Anna, you have been my absolute rock the past 14 years and let me be clear, I would not have survived them without you,” the former cycling champ said in an Instagram posted Tuesday. “I am so proud of the couple we have become – It took us doing the work, the really hard work, and I am so glad that we did. I love you immensely and will always be here for you and our family.”

Armstrong also had a son Luke, and twin daughters Grace and Isabelle with his ex-wife, Kristin Richard. His shots from the ceremony showed most of their children present, a gorgeous view of the countryside where they read their vows, and a lot of love and happiness in the family.

Once considered one of the most celebrated athletes of all time, Armstrong fell hard from grace when it was revealed in 2012 that he likely used performance-enhancing drugs for much of his professional cycling career, and also likely pressured other teammates to use them. He continues to deny these allegations but chose not to officially oppose them stating the process of contesting the charges could negatively affect his family.

He has since been stripped of all of his Tour de France championships and banned from competing in any sport that adheres to the World Anti-Doping Code. While he was hit hard financially by hemorrhaging lucrative sponsorships and his cycling salary, Armstrong is still extremely well-off due to a 2009 investment of $100,000 he made in Uber very early on, which ended up netting him $20-30 million in profit.
