Krispy Kreme Teams Up With Ghirardelli, Buys Panera
Krispy Kreme has announced a delicious collaboration with Ghirardelli chocolate.

The doughnut chain has come out with a mint chocolate and sea salt caramel doughnut, available in stores this week. The former will be filled with white mint Kreme with chocolate and green icing, topped with Ghirardelli chocolate chips. The latter has caramel filling, is dipped in icing, drizzled in chocolate and caramel, and topped with sugar and salt.
“Uniting premium chocolate enthusiasts and our beloved doughnut fans, these doughnuts offer an OMG-worthy reward any time of day — whether you’re celebrating life’s everyday moments or in search of a delightful afternoon indulgence,” said chief marketing officer of Krispy Kreme, Jackie Woodward, in a statement.
In other Krispy Kreme news, its parent company JAB has decided cut a deal with Panera to buy the chain for $7.5 billion. Other potential buys included McDonald’s, Starbucks, KFC parent YUM!, and Domino’s. In a statement today, Panera and JAB agreed to close the deal in the third quarter of this year.
