Kodak Black Arrested In Florida On Drug Trafficking & Possession Charges After Trump Commuted Sentence

Rapper Kodak Black was arrested and booked in the Broward County Jail last week on felony drug charges. He is facing both trafficking and possession charges, after police said they discovered oxycodone tablets and over $70,000 in cash in his vehicle after he was pulled over Friday.

Black, the 25-year-old rapper whose full name is Bill Kapri, was released from jail the next day on a $75,000 bond. He has since pleaded not guilty to the crimes and has requested a jury trial. It seems like Black’s team is going to dispute that the pills found in his car were really oxycodone. His lawyers filed a motion to “inspect, weigh and independently test,” the recovered tablets.

The rapper very briefly referenced his most recent arrest in an Instagram post. He shared a photo of his mugshot, pairing the shot with the caption “SMH! Not again.” He has faced legal charges for drug and gun possession, sexual assault, and other alleged crimes. One prison sentence he was serving was cut short by Donald Trump on the last day of his Presidency.

Black has been releasing lots of music and visuals recently to accompany his recent album Back for Everything which dropped this past February. The music video for his new single “Haitian Scarface” can be seen here.
